What is written with rhythm and rhyme locked in a column is usually called poetry even if it lacks any aesthetic qualities at all, and what looks like a page thickly covered with text is usually called prose, though it can be so beautiful that you remember it by heart. Poetry is a tricky thing to define – maybe the only thing I know about it is that the publishers run a mile in the opposite direction whenever one asks for their help to print and sell a new book of poems.
That’s why my best tactic so far was to disguise my poetry in a long gown of prose.
